Foam Diagram Summation at Finite Temperature

چکیده
We show that large-N φ theory is not trivial if one accepts the presence of a tachyon with a truly huge mass, and that it allows exact calculation. We use it to illustrate how to calculate the exact resummed pressure at finite temperature and verify that it is infrared and ultraviolet finite even in the zero-mass case. In 3 dimensions a residual effect of the resummed infrared divergences is that at low temperature the leading term in the interaction pressure becomes independent of the coupling. In 4 dimensions the pressure is well-defined provided that the temperature is below the tachyon mass and its expansion in powers of the coupling contains terms missed by previous authors. We examine how rapidly this expansion converges and use our analysis to suggest how one might reorganise perturbation theory to improve the calculation of the pressure for the QCD plasma.

Anderson impurity model at finite Coulomb interaction U: Generalized noncrossing approximation
We present an extension of the noncrossing approximation ~NCA!, which is widely used to calculate properties of Anderson impurity models in the limit of infinite Coulomb repulsion U→` , to the case of finite U. A self-consistent conserving pseudoparticle representation is derived by symmetrizing the usual NCA diagrams with respect to empty and doubly occupied local states. This requires an infi...

Thermodynamic quantities in symmetric nuclear matter are calculated in a self-consistent T−matrix approximation at zero and finite temperatures. The internal energy is calculated from the Galitskii-Koltun’s sum rule and from the summation of the diagrams for the interaction energy. The pressure and the entropy at finite temperature are obtained from the generating functional form of the thermod...
متن کاملMulti-response Optimization of Grooved Circular Tubes Filled with Polyurethane Foam as Energy Absorber
The main objective of this research is to improvethe design and performance of the polyurethane foam-filled thin-walled aluminum grooved circular tubes using multi-response optimization (MRO) technique. The tubes are shaped with the inner and the outer circular grooves at different positions along the axis. For this aim, several numerical simulations using ABAQUS finite element explicit code ar...
متن کاملEffective interactions for the nuclear shell model
Various perturbative and non-perturbative many-body techniques are discussed in this work. Especially, we will focus on the summation of so-called Parquet diagrams with emphasis on applications to finite nuclei. Here, the subset of two-body Parquet equations will be discussed. A practical implementation of the corresponding equations for studies of effective interactions for finite nuclei is ou...
متن کاملInfluence of expansion cooling regime on morphology of poly(Epsilon-caprolactone) foams prepared by pressure quenching using supercritical CO2
Creation of foam structures from hydrolytically degradable poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) is a current task in biomaterial research. One example are degradable scaffolds. The thermodynamic and kinetic conditions in a supercritical CO2 (scCO2) supported foaming process of PCL can influence the resulting morphology of the foam. PCL-foaming with scCO2 was systematically investigated in the pressure ra...
